Prior to diagnosis Natalie was struggling to eat, spent much of the day sleeping, and most of the night complaining of belly pain. After exams and tests, it was quite a scare when she was diagnosed with Epitheliod Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Sarcoma in May of 2020. At that time treatment was limited to surgical intervention. Natalie was hospitalized again in September with a local recurrence and has since started chemotherapy. A more involved surgery will be determined based on her response to chemotherapy. Despite ongoing struggles with eating and nausea Natalie has a great attitude and always has a smile ready.
